Another of the 4 parks in Disney World is Animal Kingdom. The easiest way to describe it is a Super Cool Zoo on steroids. Everything is bigger, better, best in Disney World and Animal Kingdom is no different. Here in the DFW area we have some pretty fabulous zoos but nothing compared to Disney World.
First and foremost, because its just awesome. When you arrive go to the Photo Pass/Memory Maker photographers in front of the Tree of Life and have them take your picture. The photographers are wonderful. Stand in the line, it may take 10-15 min. but it is well worth it!
Here are my Tips for Animal Kingdom:
Its a Zoo, if you like that sort of thing take your time and see the animals! The Gorillas are my absolute favorite
Rides: Expedition Everest & The Safari (see video below for a few tips)
Really really walk around the trails and look at the Tree of Life its super cool.
Festival of the Lion King is amazing
Finding Nemo show and Tough to be a Bug are both worth seeing too.
Looking for characters – My favorites are Rafiki (he is usually out front before you even get in the park gates). This is the only place in DW that you can see Pocahontas.
Foods – I like Yak & Yeti, Tusker House is really cool character meal with good eats, the BBQ place is good for lunch too.
Take time to watch the street shows.
In my opinion this is a half day park, unless you are really really into spending tons of time with the animals.
I have not seen the Rivers of Light or the Pandora yet. Once I do I will get you a review and tips!
