Disney World Tips #2 – On Property or Off

Walt Disney World has some of the most amazing and unique resorts in the world. You can go from the classic decor of the Contemporary, to the rustic bayou at Port Orleans Riverside and all the way to the middle of the Serengeti at Animal Kingdom Lodge among just a few. There are many pros and possibly a few cons about staying in one of the many resorts on property. As far as cons I really haven’t found any. Feel free to leave me comments below if you have.

Reasons TO stay on Property:

Convenience

When you stay at one of the resorts located on the Disney property your vacation begins the moment you step off the plane. You get greeted at the airport with the Disney Magical Express Service. The Magical Express handles your luggage and transports you to the Resort for check in. This eliminates the hassle of renting a car or taking a cab. Plus luggage, they handle it, you do not have to touch it again until its in your room… as far as lugging it around, you do not have to do that until you arrive back home. They even airline check your luggage for you when you leave!

Transportation

Once you are on the property you can use the Monorail, Buses, Boats etc to get around the Disney World property. This is much better than staying off property and having to pay to park.

Early Access

When you stay on property you can book your Fast Passes and Dining sooner than those who stay off property. This matters! Those reservations at the main restaurants book quickly. You can begin booking restaurant reservations 180 days in advance, if you are staying on property you can book 180+10. This may not seem like much but when your fighting for a spot with Cinderella or the Beast it can make a world of difference. Same thing with Fast Passes, staying on property you can schedule your fast passes 60 days out instead of 30. Again, a big deal if you want to ride the latest rides and see hard to meet characters without standing in line for 8 hrs..(which I have done)

Staying in the Disney Bubble

If you stay on property you never have to leave the Magic.. the buses are magic the resorts are magic.  The magic just never ends. If you are tired or the park seems crowded you just go back to the resort, there is ALWAYS something going on. Honestly just walking around the resorts can be an adventure in themselves.

Dining Plan

This is quite possible my favorite. If you are staying on property you can purchase the Disney Dining Plan. This kinda makes the vacation like an all-inclusive. You don’t have to worry about purchasing food etc you just use your credits. So much easier and in my opinion if done correctly the most bang for your buck!

Customer Service

Let’s not leave this one out. Hands down Disney World has the best customer service of any Resort on the planet. After all its the happiest place on earth! Disney World offers 28 resorts to choose from. They can range from $169-$600 a night. Sometimes lower, sometimes higher depending on the season. Personally I think they offer options for all budgets. You do the math, figure out what works best for your family but in my opinion you cannot beat staying on property for your Disney World Vacation
